Training
CCI Australia is establishing a training program for all employees. The training program is
to address all aspects of the business requirements. The basic elements will include
(but not limited to):
- Accredited Workplace Training Course and Assessment
- Cert IV in Front Line Management
- Management Training
- Technical and Technology Training (ACPS etc)
Accredited Workplace Training Course and Assessment
PML20104 Certificate II in Sampling and Measurement
Working with TAFE, CCI are building a training package to be delivered to our workforce
to cover all relevant aspects of our duties and responsibilities. The program will commence
as a CERT II in Sampling and Measurement, and will be developed over time to a higher level course.
Aims of the Program
The aim is to:
- Provide a career path for all employees
- Develop skills internally and in doing so use our own knowledge to advantage
- Provide incentive for our staff and a transportable Certificate for their future
- Establish a uniform standard of skills in our company and a degree of confidence in what can be expected from different people at different levels of skill
- Establish a reputation and use that as a marketing tool
- Provide local employment and opportunity for young people in isolated communities
Skills required by the CCI staff vary from basic sample collection through to experienced
interpretation and recommendation. TAFE and CCI are building the course to encompass all requirements.
It is anticipated there will be three basic levels of attainment:
- Measuring such as sampling and routine laboratory work (CERT II and CERT III)
- Recommending � using the base data to make recommendations (CERT III and Diploma)
- Evaluating � using the data and recommendations to evaluate a project (Diploma and Degree)
The initial course, a CERT II in Sampling and Measurement, will include selected subjects from the
course structure outlined below plus subjects tailored to the needs of CCI in particular.
Course Structure
The Certificate II in Sampling and Measurement allows people in the construction, manufacturing,
resources and environmental industry sectors, a clear vocational outcome for people working as
sampler/testers in production or field operations. The Certificate II in Sampling and Measurement (PML20104)
provides a flexible package of competencies which meets your needs.
To be awarded a Certificate II in Sampling and Measurement PML20104, competency must be achieved in
a total of seven (7) units of competency consisting of:
- all three (3) core units
- four (4) elective units
The elective units will be selected in consultation with the employee, their Supervisor and the SRTO.
