Coal mining in Australia is a $50 billion a year industry. Australia is the world’s largest coal exporter and it is used primarily to generate electricity and for steel making. The economy of Australia depend on this resource and as such a great importance is given to mining technology. Taking care of environment, health and safety along with design, construction and excellent project management ensures that coal industry runs efficiently and profitably. Although coal is found in all states and territories of Australia, the largest coal deposits are in New South Wales and Queensland.

If Australian coal production stays at the same level as today there are enough resources for coal mining for the next 100 years. New coal mines are being opened in remote areas and with them new infrastructure is built, which in turn creates new communities and employment.

Australia leads the way in coal mining technology, design, innovation and coal transport solutions.
